ACCT 1081 Ethics and Accountability
Individual Assignment on Current Ethical Issue
This assignment is worth 20% and has two components: 
(a)  Research into current ethical issue      10% to be submitted in week 5.3 April
(b)  Class presentation of issue           10& to be allocated over weeks 6-12
Requirements:
(a)  Research into current ethical Issue.
This is worth 10% of your marks and should not exceed 1000 words excluding appendices.
You are required to search existing databases of : newspapers, periodicals, utube, academic articles to find a current business event that involves either ethical or unethical practice and behaviour. The business event should have occurred in the last two years.
NOTE WELL.  Your choice of ethical issue has to be approved by your lecturer as we wish to avoid the same issue being presented in the seminar.
You are then required to discuss the following issues in your assignment

1. What Are the Relevant Facts? 
2. Who Are the Primary Stakeholders?
3. What Are the Ethical Issues?

This includes identifing the ethical issue (s) associated with each of the relevant facts and rank or comment on its severity. Include the different perspectives of: utilitarianism, deontological ethics and justice and fairness.
(b)  Presentation of issue
You will be allocated a seminar to present your issue to the class.  This should be no longer than 5-10 minutes.
