Study Plan Credits A student undertaking the research (minor thesis) component of the programme will be required to be involved in systematic research in an area of interest and value to nursing. The work should be original, an approximately 25,000 words in length and lead to publication, such as in a refereed journal. A student undertaking the project component of the programme will be required to research into an aspect of nursing with the aim of enhancing nursing practice and patient care. The work should be approximately 15,000 words in length and of publishable standard. Programme Outline Subject Entry is normally restricted to applicants who have obtained a high level of academic achievement in their Bachelor's programme, meet English language requirements, and legally recognized to practice as a nurse in Macao.   24 Have undertaken a TOEFL (American Test of English as a Foreign Language) test within 24 months and have achieved a paper-based test score of 580 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5 and an internet-based test score of 90 with at least 22 in writing and no section lower than 20. Advanced Therapeutic Interaction in Nursing 12 Students may complete the programme through two pathways (see the Study Plan below), which provide flexibility, in order to meet individual needs. Most units are undertaken using a combination to face-to-face teaching and independent study with students being provided with comprehensive programme materials for each unit. Credits 24 Type 1. Education in Nursing 12 Type Graduate Nurse Studies: Caring in Nursing 12 Credits 12 Compulsory Offered by Monash University, in collaboration with Macao Polytechnic Institute.   Accepted applicants are required to complete the registration of MPI (including a refundable deposit of MOP$1,000). After having registered as the students of MPI, the students can use the facilities and services provided by the Institute according to the regulations applied to the students of degree programmes. Projects Entry Requirements  Option 2: Coursework and Minor Thesis Research Methods and Issues    Option 1: Coursework and Project   Two Elective Subjects from the List of Elective Subjects Nursing Informatics 12 Compulsory Have studied in an institution where English is the language of instruction and assessment for the entire institution for either the equivalent of the first year of a university course (within the past two years if outside Australia), or the equivalent of a two year tertiary program (within the past five years if outside Australia). All students will be supervised in their research by a staff member from Monash University, Australia.
